Needed: Two of Me

What are the odds that on the second Saturday of soccer season, my hubby is still out of town and two kidlets have games at the exact same time? Story of my life, I'm telling you. I'd be all set if I could replicate myself, but since the odds of that happening are slim to none, I'll just have to miss most of one game. The kids and I agreed that the youngest gets me since I had to leave her game at half-time last week to take hubby to the airport. Plus her game is shorter so at least I'll get to catch a little of son's game toward the end.

A workable plan, yes. But this is what my week has been like. Negotiations, compromises and asking friends for favors so one kidlet wouldn't have to miss out just because there is only one of me. Seriously I have no idea how single parents do this. My hat's off to you! Seriously.

It probably hasn't helped that the kids have been grounded from television since Tuesday. They were told to do certain things before turning it on, but didn't. So I told them they would have to earn the right to turn the TV back on. So far, they haven't. Which isn't a bad thing, but man, would it be so nice to have thirty minutes to myself without someone popping in every five to either ask a question or see what I'm doing.

I was so exhausted on Thursday that I took an hour nap when my youngest went down for hers. I fell asleep into full dream mode right away. It was so hard to get up, but I had to take the kidlets to soccer practice and Irish dance so had no choice!

At least hubby is on his way home. He took a ferry from Macao to Hong Kong and sent me an email from the plane there. One more stop off in Vancouver B.C. and he'll be back to the USA. I cannot wait.

What's going on with you?

I need two of me for Back to School Night. My husband would rather be drawn and quartered than go to one of them, and yet this is our only solution. I'm trying to convince him to go to our son's BTS while I go to our daughter's, and we just bring the kids with us. I have a feeling he'd rather not, though.

Goodness, you've really had quite a week! I hope once hubby's home you'll find some time to relax. Maybe with hubby?

I hope you enjoy the soccer games! Sounds like fun!

Happy Saturday. :)

Oh! Me? See, my brain's turned to mush from so much time spent with fruits and veggies. Busy canning here; wouldn't mind a second me to peel the apples, that's for sure!

Happy Saturday. Again! :)

I hope once hubby gets home, you can see some routine that'll be easier for you to relax and take time out for yourself.

Me, I'm going to take my first stroll on the boardwalk still wearing that sling.

I hope you have a good weekend!

This will make you feel better - my niece has 7 kids and it's soccer, gymnastics, music lessons, etc. Her husband goes out of town at least once a month. They moved back home so that both mother-in-laws can help when they can and lots and lots of friends lol.

Awe, Melissa - poor thing. I've been crazy busy, but at least it's just me - not with kids. I'd be pulling my hair out or curled up in a useless ball.
Today... I wasn't as productive as I'd like... and I'm about to go to a friend's house to study (I hope) and watch the big game. [OSU v. USC - Go Bucks!]

Dang... I thought it was tough with my DH on twelve hour shifts with a two hour commute. At least I see his face now and then.

Hope it's all back to normal soon!!

I'm sorry things have been so much this week. I hope things improve soon.
Glad to hear your hubs will be due home soon.
Today was spent going to Mass, picking up a balsa wood model plane for Daughter and mulch for the yard. *G* Tomorrow I get to do laundry and Ironing. *G*

I hope you have a lovely and RELAXING Sunday.
