You are what you eat

I put on a few pounds (not sure how many, but my waist band is tighter) during deadline time so my Crossfit trainer Nichole is helping me to eat healthier. I came across this video on one of my lists and thought it was really cool.

Better make sure all of these are on my grocery list!

How are you doing diet wise? Eating whatever you want or are you trying to watch what you eat?

we're a bit of both -- but the rule in the house (at least for DD and I, DH is a grown-up and gets to decide for himself) is that you have a fruit or veggie at every meal. And, if you want a snack, you have to have a fruit or veggie with it.

We do okay. We could do better.

And, yeah, that video was pretty cool!

We eat a lot of fruit and veges at our house. What doesn't get eaten straight out of the garden gets eaten at the table. Frozen fruits become smoothies (or in the case of blueberries and grapes--a snack in themselves) or sorbets.

We have fruit or veg at every meal and for snacks. I wish I could say I was as good as the boys about it, but I'm getting better. I was raised on fast food, and pizza, so it's taken longer to retrain my palette.

The kids have really good fruit and veg palettes. My father thinks I'm raising aliens because they ASK for broccoli. 9 grows snap peas, just for the pleasure of snacking on them while playing outside.

And we all LOVE sweet potatoes. Oven-fries, baked, mashed....yum, yum, yum.

I watch what I eat because I'm a late-thirties mother of two who has a sedentary job so the weight hangs around. I've done pretty well, though. Lost three pounds this week. 1/3 of the way to my 10# before conference goal. Not going to bed STARVING anymore, which means my body has adjusted and I'll need to step up the exercise. Getting better about the exercise. Up to 3-4 times/week.

Interestingly, sleeping better now, too.

My eating healthy is slow and steady. I'm not gaining but I could do better with more veggies and fruits than I'm doing now. My consumption of fruits and veggies is better than it was a year ago, but again it could be better.

I fluctuate with my eating patterns. Some days, I don't hardly eat at all. I just drink water and then when I do eat, it is usually not the good for you food! Thanks, Cindi

We (Daughter, Hubs and I) eat regular servings of fruits and veggies and Daughter will eat a tomato for a snack. Son isn't big on veggies, so we make sure he gets lots of yogurt, fruits and cheeses. We try. I haven't gained any weight and that works for me! *G*

Recently I've been eating what I want - well, the past few days, because it was my birthday (haha, yesterday, not the past few days). My parents have always known random cool things about food - what seasons to eat something (and I don't mean the obvious "this is in season") - if a food is "hot" or "cold" [again, not literally]- and what goes with what- things you should or shouldn't eat when sick... and they have this great tome of Chinese... not herbal medicine, but something like this video :).

Loved the video.
I'm doing horrible on my diet, I blame it on the lemon pudding cake.

I thought that was fascinating! I think I eat everything but the avacado :)
