My daughter showed me this last night and I wanted to share with you! Fun and clever
Not blogging for a few days during the blog hop felt weird, but the timing couldn't have been more perfect. My two daughters also came down with strep on Friday. My so-called writing weekend didn't turn out as I expected. I'm so ready to put all these illnesses and antibiotics behind us!
We finally managed to get some decorations on the tree. Only thing missing are candy canes, then I'll take a picture! The clock that sings Christmas Carols on the hour went up last night. Now it's beginning to feel more like the holidays. Advent is a time of preparation for us. We really don't do much celebrating until Christmas Eve, but we do so until Epiphany, enjoying each of the 12 Days of Christmas.
How are your holiday preparations going?

The third story in A Copper Mountain Christmas is FREE today and tomorrow. Pick up your copy of Christmas at Copper Mountain by Jane Porter at Amazon. Click here. The cover blurb reads:
Speaking of Christmas, I came across this acapella version of A Little Drummer Boy on You Tube. Worth a listen!Since the loss of her family in a plane crash, Harley Diekerhoff has led a quiet life and keeps to herself. Taking the temporary job at the Copper Mountain Ranch as widower Brock Sheenan’s housekeeper seems perfect for her. But her calm cocoon is invaded with the arrival of Brock’s pre-teen twins, Mack and Molly who’ve never experienced a proper Christmas and before she knows it, Harley’s determined to make their holiday perfect.
Annoyed at first by Harley’s interference, Brock is secretly pleased she’s changed Mack and Molly’s world. It doesn’t hurt that he finds Harley incredibly attractive, fierce, smart and passionate. It’s also an added bonus that she’s not afraid to challenge him and get his blood heated! But when sparks fly and the attractions sizzles between them, Harley’s not so sure she can handle something permanent with this dark, taciturn cowboy who doesn’t know how to let her in. But Brock is determined to hold on to her and praying for a Christmas miracle…
Enjoy your Tuesday! I'm hoping I can get rid of this crud I caught!

Justin Bieber Concert Fun!
| Justin flying with wings |
The concert was very high-tech, a multi-media stage with lights, fireworks and confetti. Justin flew threw air with wings, rode through the air singing and playing the guitar on a mechanical crane-like device and was raised up on this platform.
My girls loved it! And him!
As I mentioned yesterday, this was my 9 year old's first concert. I had the most fun watching her all night. She didn't want a T-shirt since she'd just gotten a new on Sunday night, but she did want a lanyard and a light stick to wave. Of course my 14 year old had to have an official concert T-shirt. She changed into it before the concert started!
| My daughter's poster |
I appreciated Mackenna making sure to include Rose in pictures, giving her hugs and just sharing the experience. So sweet to see them enjoying the time together!
As everyone warned me, the screaming was intense. I'd purchased two sets of ear plugs when we got into the Rose Garden. Best $2 I've ever spent! It made things much more enjoyable!
After Cody Simpson (a 15 year old Australian who the two 14 year old girls with me really enjoyed seeing!) played then Carly Rae Jepsen went, Rose asked me if she could wear the other set of ear plugs. Smart kid! You could hear the music and talking, but those shrieking decibels disappeared!
What will I remember most? The smiles on my girls' faces during and after the concert.

As Long As You Love Me
Tonight is the Justin Bieber concert. Carly Rae Jepsen is the opening act.
My girls have been looking forward to this for weeks. I missed getting tickets the first time around, but they released more so we decided to go. The seats aren't great, but the girls don't care. They just want to be there.
This will be Rose's first concert. Mackenna's first concert was The Cheetah Girls. The opening act was a then little known teenager named Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana.
Rose is all set with a poster she and her sister made and a brand new JB T-shirt that she convinced her dad to buy her last night! One more to add to her collection!
The CD Believe has been playing over and over again. At least I'll know the songs!
You know where I'll be this evening. What are you up to?

50 Ways to Say Goodbye
So my back door into embedding LOLcats was slammed shut this morning. I even tried making my own to see if it would come up. Nope. If you want to see it just click on the link. But I have to get my daughter to freshman orientation so I don't have time to mess around any more this morning.
So....
I thought I'd post this music instead. The song just makes me smile. The lyrics are so funny. It's by Train and called 50 Ways to Say Goodbye. Enjoy!
Have a great day! We're entering a new phase in our life...high school. It should be interesting!

One Thing
see more
My daughters are crazy about One Direction. We listen to the cd over and over again when we're in the minivan and at home. Needless to say I have the lyrics memorized. And I have a couple of favorites tunes myself #3 and #13 on the CD to be exact.
I had to smile when I saw this parody of their newest song One Thing by Pup Direction. It happens to be the third song on the CD, too!
In case you haven't heard the real song, here it is...
Which one do you like best?

Sneak attack fail!

This made me smile.
Who needs cartoon kitties with real life ones like these!
I'm spending my day on a 7/8 grade field trip. Hubby was supposed to take this one, but it didn't happen. Three teenage girls, two hour drive each way and a One Direction CD. I'm guessing I'll have all the words memorized by the time I get home.
Have a nice Tuesday!

I heard another song on the radio that's perfect for my book soundtrack. It's Train's song Drive By. The video tells a little story which are my favorite kind of music videos!
Hope you enjoy your Sunday!

Just a Kiss
see more Lolcats and funny pictures
I had more than one person ask me if I was getting a puppy yesterday after my blog post as well as FB status messages. We will be getting a puppy at some point. Mackenna wants to show in the Breed ring at dog shows in addition to Junior Handling. The question is when we'll get a puppy. I'm guessing both the cats and Chaos hope it's a while because they were jealous when we arrived home from visiting the puppies.
I found another song for my book soundtrack. This one is by the group Lady Antebellum and called Just a Kiss.
It's a perfect song for Ryland and Lucy's romance! Now to get the book finished. I've upped my word count each day. I really want a complete by the end of the month so I have a couple of weeks to rewrite it.
I've been focusing on writing and not on-line much due to writing, family and fair last week. I'll try to blog hop later today and get caught up with people. Hope all is well with everyone!

Broken
I have my second song for my Christmas book soundtrack. No Christmas songs yet. We're just past Thanksgiving in the story line. Sorry for the ad at the beginning, but it's the only copy I could find that allowed embedding.
The song is Broken by Lifehouse. Pretty much there has always been a Lifehouse song on my book soundtracks since Hanging by a Moment. I love these guys, and they're the one group where I will use songs over again for another story!
