Friday Fun

I had links for you on Wednesday. I have videos for you today. When you have a few minutes check out my faves from the week:

1. This has gone viral big time. I saw it Wednesday morning when the views were still under 100K. My favorite Super Bowl video. Budweiser wins again this year with the #BestBuds ad. The romance writer in me hopes the horse trainer gets the girl in the next one!

2. This is another Super Bowl ad. You won't be misty-eyed or have your heart sigh with this one, but you may get a chuckle. This Chevy ad makes me think of the Bar V5 dude ranch in my novella Home For Christmas! Enjoy!

3. This one features Derrick Coleman, a football player for the Seattle Seahawks, who is playing in the Super Bowl. He's deaf and paid a visit to two fans in New Jersey. Such a class act! You can also watch the KOMO news clip here.

4. This video is a PSA for wine lovers, a helpful hint on what to do if you are without a wine opener. I have no idea if this works, but I'm curious enough to try it. Though not with an expensive bottle!

5. The final video brought tears to my eyes. It's a Guinness about two sisters who have competed for the US in the winter Olympics. So worth a watch. The problem is YouTube was pulling it due to some Olympic rules about ads from non-sponsors. I can't embed it, but here's the link to the AdWeek article where I watched it. I hope they can keep the video live somehow.

Have a great Friday and weekend!

Contest time! The winner of the $5 Starbucks gift card and mini swag gingerbread bag is...Emma! Emma, you didn't have a profile attached to your name so please send me your mailing address via the contact button on the menu bar and I'll send out your prize!

We are now accepting RSVPs to our 12 Hours Of Christmas Facebook Bash. Go here so you can join the party. It'll be held at the Sweet Romance Reads page, but we'll be doing promo and pre-party stuff at the event page.

The third story in A Copper Mountain Christmas is FREE today and tomorrow. Pick up your copy of Christmas at Copper Mountain by Jane Porter at Amazon. Click here. The cover blurb reads:
Since the loss of her family in a plane crash, Harley Diekerhoff has led a quiet life and keeps to herself. Taking the temporary job at the Copper Mountain Ranch as widower Brock Sheenan’s housekeeper seems perfect for her. But her calm cocoon is invaded with the arrival of Brock’s pre-teen twins, Mack and Molly who’ve never experienced a proper Christmas and before she knows it, Harley’s determined to make their holiday perfect.

Annoyed at first by Harley’s interference, Brock is secretly pleased she’s changed Mack and Molly’s world. It doesn’t hurt that he finds Harley incredibly attractive, fierce, smart and passionate. It’s also an added bonus that she’s not afraid to challenge him and get his blood heated! But when sparks fly and the attractions sizzles between them, Harley’s not so sure she can handle something permanent with this dark, taciturn cowboy who doesn’t know how to let her in. But Brock is determined to hold on to her and praying for a Christmas miracle…
Speaking of Christmas, I came across this acapella version of A Little Drummer Boy on You Tube. Worth a listen!

Enjoy your Tuesday! I'm hoping I can get rid of this crud I caught!

Smiling

Yesterday morning I walked downstairs and found these roses waiting for me. Aren't they pretty? I love them. So does Beauty unfortunately, but I set out a bowl of food for her in hopes she'll nibble on that instead of play with the sticks and flowers. So far so good!

The house was quiet for much of yesterday. The family was at a swim meet. I was at home. I slept in a little, played with the animals, typed in my AAs (page proofs) for my November release A Little Bit of Holiday Magic and wrote a new chapter on my current book. A very nice day.

After the family arrived home, we went to Mass then out to dinner. Our dinner plans had to change because the first place, Joe's Crab Shak, had an hour and a half wait. The second place, McGrath's Fish House, a two hour wait. So we went to our old stand-by, Red Robin, and walked right in. Hubby promised me seafood this week so I get two dinners out! Not a bad compromise!

On the way home, I told hubby to stop at Dairy Queen. He looked at me strangely. I'm currently doing Whole 30 so I can't eat dessert. I told him I couldn't get dessert, but everyone else could. So we went through the drive-thru and I had three happy kidlets and a smiling hubby!

I also got presents in addition to the roses. Workout clothes, jammies and a red fleece blanket (I'm always cold because of the a/c.) A very good Mother's Day!

While we were waiting for our dessert, I was scrolling through Facebook and saw a clip I'd seen before. It just makes me smile, my family, too, so I thought that I'd share it with you! I love the smiles, the enthusiasm, the lack of embarrassment, everything about this. Enjoy!

Hope you have a great Monday!

Simply Amazing

This video clip from Britain's Got Talent came across Newsfeed first then again in my Soldiers' Angels group on Facebook. Both times I had the same response. All I can say is watch it. And you might what to have a tissue nearby. I needed a couple.

I'd love to hear what you think about it.

Hope you have a nice Monday!

Flash Hockey Fans Goodness

This clip came across my Facebook newsfeed last night from Buzzfeed who termed it The Best Marketing Stunt of 2012. But it's so much more than a Marketing Stunt. The expressions on these beer league hockey players says it all. See for yourself...

Here's the background on how this happened...

Pretty awesome, don't you think?

Call Me Maybe Redux

Don't forget to enter my Larkville Legacy Giveaway at Harlequin Junkie. Click here. The winner will be picked tonight. Say hi if you get the chance, too!

This came across my Facebook feed last night. It's one of the better Call Me Maybe takeoffs. The status message was "The Quiet Professionals." Special Forces guys? I have no idea but it's worth a watch. US Troops in Afghanistan remake the Miami Dolphin cheerleaders' version and you can see both versions at the same time!

It's a short three hour day at the alternative school for my two youngest so I'll be hanging out at a coffee shop and writing this morning. What are you up to?

Just dance!

Life is crazy right now. Flying solo with the three kidlets while hubby's off doing whatever he does while he's away. Needless to say, laundry and dishes and the new manuscript are waiting for me.

But I saw this on Facebook and wanted to share. Very cute!

When all else fails, I must remember to just dance! It always makes me feel better! Especially when my kids are so embarrassed and begging me to stop.

Have a great day!

Bears

We had a lion on the blog yesterday. No tiger today, but I must share this bear video that came across my Facebook wall yesterday. I wasn't quite sure what was going on as I watched, but I got a nice surprise! Worth a view.

The Clark County Fair 4-H Dog barn opens today. We'll be there for dog judging, but just today. I decided last year I couldn't spend seven days there. A good thing I made that decision because I really do need to write. A lot of people think because you work at home that you're really not working. But that isn't the case at all. I've gotten much better at saying no. If not, I'd never get anything done!

The kids don't seem to mind since I promised they'd still get to go to fair, and they still entered a few events. A win-win situation!

Well, I'd better get writing before it's time to head over to the fairgrounds. Have a great Monday!

This made me smile.

Who needs cartoon kitties with real life ones like these!

I'm spending my day on a 7/8 grade field trip. Hubby was supposed to take this one, but it didn't happen. Three teenage girls, two hour drive each way and a One Direction CD. I'm guessing I'll have all the words memorized by the time I get home.

Have a nice Tuesday!

Book of the Week!

Thanks to everyone who voted this weekend! Expecting Royal Twins! was voted LASR's Book of the Week!

I'm so excited. A book of mine hasn't won anything since way back in 2002 when In Deep Waters... won the Romantic Times Best Silhouette Romance Award so this is very cool for me.

One of the prizes was the nifty button on the right! I also received this video made by Goddess Fish Promotions:

Today, I'm talking about how a character comes to me at My Eclectic Bookshelf. I hope you'll stop by and say hi! Remember your comment there enters you to win a $20 Amazon gift card.

A link, a lolcat and a song

I'm taking a little bit of a break after working so hard to get Not-So-Perfect Princess written so blogs will be brief or nonexistent the next few days. I thought I'd leave you with a couple of things in the meantime.

1) A link: A very nice review of my book Wedding Date with the Best Man is here on The Good, the Bad and the Unread. I don't send out review copies (due to lack of time and my general avoidance of PR) so it's always a special treat when I can read a review of one of my books. I'd never heard of this site before, but it came across my google alerts. It's a good one!

2) A LOLcat: What can I say? I have to have a daily LOLcat dose to make it through my day. This one fits my kitties to a T. And I have to admit, lately Chaos has been living up to her name. Yesterday she tore into a garbage bag and made a mess! Not a good dog!

funny pictures-Is "gooddog" a word?
see more Lolcats and funny pictures

3) A Song: I love this! This clip is from last week's Glee and features Darren Criss, who is a great new addition to the show. The arrangement of Katy Perry's Teenage Dream and background vocals are done by these guys. Remember the Beelzebubs from that Sing Off! show? I sure do!

The Cat House

See how a couple remodeled their house into a Cat House and turns their love of cats into a full-time job.

I'm busy writing my proposal. My editor and I worked out delivery dates for the last two books and I want to get this one turned in ASAP to give me a little extra time finishing the complete. Guess what I'll be doing Labor Day Weekend? What about you?

For a good laugh...

Watch this:

I don't watch a lot of TV so had never heard of this show until I came across this clip on my Facebook news feed. Talk about funny! I feel bad for that babysitter, but I'll be honest, I laughed so hard I was almost crying.

Okay, I need to get back to my proposal now! Have a nice Tuesday!

Your Love is My Drug

My good friend and Love Inspired Suspense author Terri Reed emailed me the url for this video which features several romance writers. It's from the the RWA National Conference's Literacy Signing and will show you a little of what happened a week ago Wednesday in Orlando, Florida.

The booksigning is a really cool event. Publishers donate the books. Readers buy the books. The authors sign them. Literacy groups get the proceeds. A win-win situation for all involved! You can see how much money was raised at the end of the clip.

Do you read any of the authors you saw in the video? If so, who?

Bionic Kitty

This YouTube video is about Oscar, a cat who needed two new back paws so he could walk. See what the doctors made for him.

Happy 4th of July!

Here are a couple of videos to commemorate the Fourth of July:

Each year we celebrate Independence Day the same. A BBQ with family and friend. There is always too much food and way too many fireworks.

What plans do you have for today?

New Book, New Soundtrack

On my way home from the grocery store, I heard the song Down by Jay Sean and thought it might work my new story soundtrack. I've always liked the song and a few months back I posted a YouTube video of the song that had been made by Providence St. Vincent Hospital. So last night I went to YouTube to listen to it:

I couldn't believe all the little magic special effects. It's perfect because my book is a contemporary take on a well-known fairy tale! Needless to say this is the first song in my book soundtrack!
