Snow!

This was the second night in a row that we wore our pajamas inside out. That's what the kidlets do when they want to wake up to snow. It didn't work yesterday, but it did work today! Yay!

This is what our backyard looks like this morning. The schools aren't canceled, but are running a couple of hours late.

Figures.

Today is one of two days the kidlets attend classes. I stayed up late putting together a lesson on revising for Rose's class. I was supposed to give it this morning during their writing block and my volunteer time. I'm assuming they'll jump right into their science block when school starts. Oh, well... At least I'll be ready when I volunteer next.

I'm going to enjoy the quiet and the snow for a little longer. How are things where you are?

Update: Lots of squeeing at the McClone house right now! Just got the robocall. School is canceled for the day!

Snowfall!

funny pictures - Neighborhood watch. Committee of one.

We had a feline watch committee yesterday. But they weren't looking at the neighborhood. They were more interested in what was falling from the sky.

This was Beauty's first time seeing the white stuff. She loved watching the falling store. Her cat tree gave her a perfect spot to peer out the window.

Unfortunately the snow didn't last long or stick. Still it was so much fun to watch the big, fat, fluffy flakes falling. We didn't get hardly any snow last year so have been hoping for at least one snow day this year.

We've got our fingers crossed more will snow is on the way. I'm sure the kidlets will be wearing their rally pajamas (pjs worn inside out!) tonight!

How is the weather were you are?

Snow Day Finally!

funny pictures - Sanity runs from my family......

This describes my family perfect. Add in a dog named Chaos and snow...total craziness around here.  But big, fluffy white flakes are covering everything right now!

My wishing for snow has finally paid off. All those nights of the kidlets wearing their jammies inside out haven't been for naught. Yes, it's snowing in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. It's still early in the morning, but it's a winter wonderland outside, a scene straight out of Narnia! The kidlets are going to be so excited!

So will the dog. Chaos loves bounding through the snow. Her fave jaunt is up to Mount Hood to hike up the glacier, but we haven't had the time (or enough of us healthy) to do that this winter.

The cats, who always are inside, could care less about the white stuff everyone oohs and aahs about. They'd rather have the attention directed toward them. They act rather perturbed when they don't get it.

Needless to say, it'll be a fun day!

A couple book related things for you...

Today, I'm making another stop on my virtual book tour at The Heart of Romance. I'm interviewing Prince Niko and Princess Izzy from Expecting Royal Twins! It should be fun so I hope you stop by. Be sure to comment at the book tour stop. Each comment enters you to win a $20 Amazon gift card. Only three more stops to go after this one!

I also have a brand new author page at Facebook. It went up last night. My web designer Julie of Blogger Boutique (formerly Zip.Zog.Zoom.) created a fun welcome landing page. It's right there on the left. You can get there by pressing the "f" button up on the right below the Connect with Me heading. I'd love to get 25 people to like the page so I (okay, Julie) can name it for me. Hint. Hint.

If you happen to be looking for someone to design a blogger template or a Facebook landing page, I can't recommend Julie more highly. She's easy to work with, patient with crazy schedules like mine and very quick.

Hope you have a great Thursday.  I'm  looking forwarded to playing in the snow and writing!  How about you?

Snow!

This has been a swim meet weekend, and the meet was a bit of a drive away. Both mornings we left home at 6 am. Today on our way home, we had rain the entire drive. Until we got off the freeway at our exit.

The rain had turned to snow! It's really falling hard and sticking. Hubby pulled out the bucket with all the ski gear and clothing. The kidlets are outside having a blast as is Chaos!

Hard to believe they were swimming this morning! They say this will be a really bad winter. Yesterday, when hubby went to buy chains for the new minivan, he got a quote on studded tires. If this keeps up, we're going to need them.

I'm so excited! I just love snow!

How's the weather where you are? Oh, and today is the last day to enter this week's contest. Just post a comment. Check back tomorrow to see if you won!

Snow

We're in Bend with my friend Tiffany and her son Henry. We went skiing at Mount Bachelor today. Boy, am I tired and sore. Out of shape am I! It started snowing after lunch and hasn't let up. It's so pretty. I saw on Facebook that it's also snowing where we live. About time!

What are you up to today?

Snowflakes and Gingerbread

This was out street before the last snow hit on Sunday. As you can see, we already had full coverage so the extra just added inches and ice. Chaos was jumping through the street and running around the street yesterday. On leash, of course, but she was having a blast. The snow came up to her chest!

More snow is predicted for tomorrow. If that's the case, we won't be making the hour and a half drive south to attend my family's Christmas Eve gathering. The kids are bummed about that, but we can do it once the weather improves. I went ahead and bought a ham just in case I have to cook for us.

Here's the before shot of the gingerbread house we made. It was a kit we bought at Costco. You put the house together yourself. The kids did most of it themselves with just a little help from us!

Here's the finished product. We waited a day for the house to set before decorating it. The kids did everything except the wreath on the front of the house, the green around the doors and windows and the green on the big tree. It took us a couple of hours with lots of candy eating! I think they may have added more gum drops around the outside, but by then I'd put away the camera. We do a house every year. One of those tradition things that is not, fortunately, weather dependent!

I managed to get my Christmas cards yesterday. It was quite the experience. Even with chains and hubby behind the wheel, we spun out getting onto the freeway on-ramp. But at least I can get the cards done and hopefully in the mail later today! What are you doing today?

Snow Day!

I finally downloaded pictures! Here are a couple from Sunday when the snow fell! The kids on our end of the court all came out to play! Of course, Chaos couldn't understand why no one wanted to play football with her!

More snow is expected to fall tomorrow! The kids can't wait. I'm just happy most of my Christmas shopping is done. The rest can be accomplished in about an hour. Hope you have a great day!

Kisses for Frosty

I just had to share these cute pictures taken by my friend Tiffany of her (and our surrogate) dog, Angus. We stayed with them in Bend.

On Friday, we were supposed to go climbing at Smith Rock. We woke up to snow on the ground and lots of white stuff falling from the sky. Our outing got cancelled. We decided to take a snow day. That is the kids spent most of the day playing outside.

Rose and hubby built a large snowman. It was taller than her. My little one was so proud!

Angus wanted in on the fun. He went up and gave Frosty a big hug and kiss! We were all surprised until we realized the reason. Can you guess what it was?

Hope you have a great Monday! I'll be getting back into the swing of things. Oh, and the laundry!
