Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope you have a wonderful Friday whether you're spending Valentine's with your loved one or if you're on your own this year!

I've been playing around with a new app and came up with this for you:

This...

I can't speak for other writers, but what to know what it feels like to be in the final days right before a manuscript is due?

Hubby would agree with the LOLcat. The kidlets, too. The good thing is the feeling doesn't last. By the time Monday rolls around I won't be feeling like this! Can't wait!

Hope you enjoyed your Valentine's day! I sure did. Lunch out with hubby. Cards from the cats and dogs. Some down time with my kids last night. A couple phone calls with friends.

A very nice day!

I thank my editor for that. I don't have to send the manuscript in today so I could celebrate Valentine's Day without being in a mad panic to keep working! The book will be emailed to her this weekend, instead!

Enjoy your Friday! I'm going to make the most of mine!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I can't believe it's February 14th! Wasn't it just New Year's day?

Yesterday the kidlets got their Valentine's cards together. Rose is passing out wild animal cards. Finn made LEGO Anakin ones with a glo-bracelet for the Lightsaber that I found on the Internet. Mackenna didn't seem that interested in cards or anything.

My day will be spent writing and with hubby! He's in town so I want to make the most of that and celebrate the day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Do you have any big plans?

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope you have a Happy Valentine's Day!

If you're an eBook reader, lots of authors seem to be having sales or giveaways on their novels so be sure to go to your fave authors Facebook pages or check Amazon and bn.com.

If you're in the UK, my book Not-So-Perfect Princess is part of Mills & Boon's 2 for 1 Pink Tuesday with Barbara Wallace's The Heart of the Hero!

We don't have any big plans today which is a-okay with me. How about you? Will you be doing anything special for Valentine's Day? I'd love to know how people are celebrating!

A Card

This is the card hubby got me for Valentine's Day. Do you notice anything about the design?

I thought it looked familiar. It took me a few seconds until I realized why.

Me: It looks like my website.

Hubby: I know.

Me: Did you get this because of that?

Hubby: You really have to ask that.

Me to myself: Okay, probably not.

He pointed out the little birds. The hearts. The colors. Very sweet, indeed. I couldn't have asked for a better card.

Even though I love to ski, climb and hike and I don't wear a lot of dresses, make-up and jewelry, I'm still a total girly girl. I love hearts and flowers and little birdies. When the new website design went live last year, one of my RCRW chaptermates said it was so me. Yep! And so is my Valentine's Day card.

Today I'm at another stop on my virtual book tour. I'm being interviewed at the Book Junkie. Stop bye and say hi! You're comment there will enter you in the Amazon gift card giveaway. Plus it'll keep me from getting lonely!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day has always been special to me. Given I'm a romance writer, it's kind of like a national holiday. We never do anything huge or make grand gestures, but it's those little things—a special card or an extra kiss or favorite chocolate candy—that make the day so special. Not just for hubby and me, but our entire family. But I realize those celebrating love can and should happen every day. Not just the fourteenth of February.

A good thing because our Valentine's day is going to be a little different this year. And it's totally my fault for not taking better care of myself.

Being stuck in bed doesn't make for a great Valentine's Day. Let me fix that...being stuck in bed sick.

This weekend I was diagnosed with a sinus infection and pleurisy. Neither are much fun. But given I had an EKG to rule out heart problems and a chest x-ray to rule out pneumonia, a mass in my lungs and a few other not so good things, I'd say I ended up with the better diagnosis.

I actually got my Valentine's Day present early. The relief I saw on hubby's face when I walked into the lobby after a three hour examination told me more about his love than anything he could have bought me. The kidlets, too.

I'm making a stop on my virtual book tour today at Hearticles. I'm blogging about category romance. I'll also be giving away a book in honor of Valentine's Day so stop by and say hi! I'll be checking in throughout the day.

And finally, check out how Adam Young of Owl City responds to Taylor Swift's song Enchanted about her crush on him. Talk about a hero move. The "shy boy" did well! Must admit, I'm curious what will happen next!

Happy Valentine's Day!

This came across my newsfeed on Facebook yesterday. It's brought to you by Tiny Prints. Clever and funny. Enjoy!

Gotta love the fan blowing in his face! Remember, Valentine's Day is in less than two weeks! Don't forget to buy or make your sweetie a card!

Can it be?

I can't believe tomorrow is February 14th? Where has the year gone?

Valentine's card and chocolate are on the tops of my To Do list today. I'll buy the kidlets something chocolate. I'll probably make hubby's card. Just seems a little more romantic. Considering we'll be watching 1) the Olympics (our choice) or 2) Starstruck (kidlets' choice) tomorrow night, it's not going to be a lot of hearts and violins around here.

I might have to pick up a Papa Murphy's heart shaped pepperoni pizza for dinner, too. That way no one has to cook!

Do you have any big plans for Valentine's Day?

Seattle in a Day

The alarm went off at 3:30 am. We were on the road by 4 and pulled into the parking lot at the Seattle Center a quarter before 7. The dancing started at 8 am and we got out of there at 4 pm. We stopped on the drive home so Chaos could take a walk and we could eat dinner. We arrived home around 7:30. Needless to say, I'm tried. We all went to bed early than I realized I hadn't done my challenge so got up to get my 14 of each in. I'll post the challenge for day 15 in the morning. I'm going back to bed.

Hope everyone had a nice Valentine's day!

A couple things

I really should email this LOLcat to my hubby!!!! Not that it matters. We're only exchanging cards. Nothing else. I'll spend my Valentine's day watching Irish dance. Not exactly romantic since I'll have the three kidlets with me. Maybe next year hubby and I be able to sneak a little romance in there! Fingers crossed!

I wanted to let you know that Sunday will be the last free book giveaway. Some things have come up, and I can't keep the contest going right now. When I can bring it back, I will. I still have lots of books to giveaway! Make sure you posts comments before Sunday to get entries!

Be My Valentine

I know many people hate Valentine's Day. For many years (think those dating and single years), I dreaded February 14th. Oh, there were some good ones in there. I remember one guy I dated, a management consultant who traveled all the time so wasn't in town on the 14th, gave me the cutest card that is still one of my favorite Valentines to this day. I was an aspiring writer then and the wording inside was about being a "romantic novelist." But there were some bad ones, really bad ones, February 14ths straight from a horror movie rather than a romantic comedy. But even then I never gave up on Valentine's Day.

I couldn't.

Let's face it. I'm a romantic at heart. Always have been. Always will be. I believe in true love and happily ever afters. I'm a romance writer for goodness sake! How can I not love a day that celebrates love? And not just well the heart pounding, take your breath away romantic love. Sure, there's that, but the day is also a time to celebrate the love of family and friends. At least that's how I look at it.

Valentine's Day is a big deal around here. Well, for four of us, anyway. I don't think hubby gets into it much, but he's a good sport about the rest of us. The kidlets made goodie bags for each of their classmates and took great care with their choice of Valentine cards. In case you're interested, this year's choices were High School Musical and Disney Princesses.

Tonight hubby and I be going out to dinner for a much deserved date night. We decided to just do cards this year. Though I'm kind of hoping a box of chocolates will show up somehow! The kids will each be getting a card from us and a Mickey and Minnie heart lollipop I bought at Disneyland.

Do you have any special plans for Valentine's Day?
