When it rains, it pours...

On the way home from my son's soccer practice last night, my youngest daughter fell asleep. She usually falls alseep in the car, but when we arrived home I could tell something was wrong. First, she cared less about the cool Halloween decorations and lights hubby had put up. Second, she started crying when the dog bumped into her. Third, she walked straight upstairs because she was so tired and wanted to go to bed. And it was only a little after eight.
I told her to crawl in my bed. She did. With her fleece jacket on. I had a few things to do around the house, but she did not want to be alone. My oldest said she'd stay in there with her. Meanwhile, my sniffles and sneezing started turning into a full-blown head cold.
When I kissed my little on on the forehead goodnight, I knew she had a fever. I got the thermometer. Yep.
All I could think was why does this always happen when hubby goes away. I knew I've been fighting something for days now keeping it at bay, but I was hoping the kidlets would stay healthy. I think it's time for me to call my mommy!
Hope you're healthy and happy wherever you are!
